Located in the northwest of Saudi Arabia, Our Habitas AlUla is nestled among an ancient oasis in a desert valley, surrounded by spectacular sandstone cliffs and palm groves. Pathways lead up to one of 96 guest rooms, and on through to reception, a yoga deck, wellness and fitness centers, a restaurant, and a swimming pool. From above, the rooms read as a scatter of low roofs following the sand, not a hotel planted on it.

Every room is made from ethically sourced organic materials that blend into the natural surroundings, with minimal disruption and a sustainable programme meant to leave no trace on the environment. The architecture is the argument: stay the night, and try not to announce that you did.

The programming is the backbone of the stay. Six pillars — wellness, adventure, culture, learning, and food and beverage — are built as collaborations with the local culture and the landscape around the valley. Tama, the restaurant, is where the house comes together: an immersive culinary journey through time, with farm-to-table practices and sustainable agricultural methods. The food and beverage concept infuses Saudi and Middle Eastern cuisine, using local, fresh ingredients, including spices once traded along the incense route.
